BRIEF ON VOLUNTARY AID INITIATIVE

Voluntary Aid Initiative is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization established by patriotic youths in 2010, for the purpose of creating awareness on Community participation in Conflict Resolution, Disaster Management, Health Care Service Delivery, Education, Empowerment and Human Rights towards promoting an Egalitarian Society. The organization has over 500

Members/Volunteers/Facilitators across the State.
The organization was registered 2012 with Corporate Affairs Commission with registration number (CAC N0:57355) in 2012.

Our Mission

Improving Community strength through Community Engagement, Policy Development, Legislative Initiatives and effective monitoring aimed at building an Egalitarian Society.

Our Objectives

  • To increase community members knowledge on social protection programmes.
  • To create awareness on health interventions such as COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis of Fistula, Malaria and Nutrition programmes for community participation.
  • To empower marginalized group with vocational skills for self-reliance.
  • To assist victims of disaster through emergency response programmes.
  • To prepare and respond promptly in Disaster situation.
  • To advocate for increase of health, education, nutrition and humanitarian budget allocation in the state annual budget and timely release of the fund.
  • To provide support to survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence. 
  • To monitor federal and state budgets aimed at enhancing accountability and transparency .
  • To collaborate with other stakeholders towards similar objectives.
  • To build the capacity of community groups on Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) mechanism.
